GoldMoney expands its management team with a new Chief Operating Officer

GoldMoney has appointed Raquel Lopez as Chief Operating Officer. She joins the senior management team at GoldMoney's head office in Jersey as the company continues to expand its international offering.

Ms Lopez comes to Jersey after setting up the GoldMoney office in Hong Kong. She said: 'I've been working with the St Helier based team at a distance, and it is great to now be able to work within such a highly motivated operation at a time when we are looking to expand our customer base and recruit new talent to our Jersey team. I am looking forward to the new challenge in this unique company, creating a cohesive working environment and ensuring the strategic aims of GoldMoney are understood by all the operational staff.'

GoldMoney is the leading online provider of physical bullion and the Jersey registered company now services nearly 23,000 customers worldwide. After the economic crisis in 2008, the growth of customer assets accelerated as customers looked to protect their purchasing power by buying precious metals.

Ms Lopez , (37) will draw on her MBA and previous experience as a Management Consultant with multi-national consultants Capgemini. She spent 15 months in Hong Kong, establishing the GoldMoney satellite service office there, and recruiting and training the staff.

Ms Lopez, originally from Madrid in Spain, has already become involved with Jersey life, joining local ladies' Volleyball team the Foxes.
