From mining to trading: the insiders’ view of the gold industry

GoldMoney is delighted to host a panel discussion with some of the key players in the global gold industry. You can hear from the directors of mining, refining and trading companies as they discuss their main challenges and successes.

The event will be moderated by Gwyn Garfield-Bennett from Direct Input and the Panel members include:

Mining: Dr. Timothy Coughlin, President and CEO, Lydian International

Lydian International is a mineral exploration and development company with a highly experienced management who have expertise in discovering and developing new gold projects in unfamiliar and frontier settings. The company is developing its flagship asset, the Amulsar Gold project, in southern Armenia. This outstanding open-pit, low-cost heap-leach deposit will make Lydian a leading intermediate producer and one of Armenia’s top tax generators.

Dr. Coughlin has over 20 years of wide-ranging experience as an exploration and mining industry consultant and has held senior positions with major mining companies. He is a specialist in frontier mineral exploration and on mining investment in emerging and transitional environments.

Dr. Coughlin has provided advice on country entry programs in the Caucasus, Balkans, Colombia and Russia and has been integral in new and now operating grass-roots gold discoveries in South America and Australasia. He holds a BSc in Geology, MSc Exploration and Mining Geology, and a PhD (structural geology).

Refining: Bernhard Schnellmann, Director of Precious Metals, Argor–Heraeus

Argor-Heraeus is one of the world’s largest processors of precious metals. It is head-quartered in Switzerland where it was established in 1951. Owned by the Austrian mint, Commerzbank, Heraeus and its management team.

After leaving that post in 1987, he went on to hold various advisory roles in money management.

In 2001 he co-founded GoldMoney and is Chairman of the group. In addition, as a director of the GoldMoney Foundation, his commitment and dedication spearheads research on gold, sound money and free markets.
